What Our Nursery Offers

Our range of facilities means that we’re a suitable location for children from just 3 months old up until 5 years old. We have four dedicated areas for each age group, meaning that every child grows and matures with others of similar-ages. Each room is well-staffed with plenty of practitioners on-hand, overseeing age-appropriate learning activities and inquisitive play.

For those who love learning outdoors, we have a fully enclosed garden space where children can explore and thrive whilst in nature, and for those who need a calm and relaxing space, we have a dedicated sensory room which offers a multi-sensory environment for children of all ages. Our final room (and for many children, their favourite!), the soft play area, is a fantastic space for energetic children to develop their walking, running, and jumping skills.

Activities and Learning

Nurseries and pre-schools offer an essential step for young children before they start formal primary education. For most young minds, this is their first experience of structured learning with other children.

We understand that learning comes in many different forms, from socialising to inquisitive play, which is why we encourage self-learning as well as organised activities, such as reading, mathematical skills and written literacy skills.

Communication With Parents

We appreciate that sending your child to a nursery is a big step in their learning journey, and it is natural to want to be informed about their daily activities. We pride ourselves on developing and maintaining strong relationships with all of our families, helping each parent feel comfortable about their child’s development, concerns, or any other questions they may have.

You will be provided with a daily descriptive handover from relevant staff within your child’s room upon collection, keeping you in the loop about the learning they’ve enjoyed during the day, if they’ve slept (and for how long), and what they’ve eaten. We regularly update parents about their child through Tapestry, an online learning journal, and “Parent’s Evening” events will be held twice a year, where you can speak one-on-one with your child’s key worker.

What Our Parents Said...

“All the staff at the nursery have been really great at looking after and teaching both my children so much. They come home having learnt so many things I didn't know they would be taught, whilst playing with friends. I had no concerns sending my baby into the pink room and watching them develop as they've moved up has been a joy. A recent change to the menus has gone down a treat too! I would definitely recommend this nursery to anyone looking for somewhere fun and caring with great facilities.
“I have two children at Abbey Wood Grange and they are very happy there. The nursery is great at developing children. My eldest daughter is a confident child, who has made friends and will be ready for school in September. My youngest has settled in well and the nursery is great at supporting her needs eg she is a fussy eater. I would recommend this nursery.
I highly recommend this nursery. All the staff are friendly, hard working and caring. Both my children have attended since they were 10-months old and have thrived in all the different rooms from the lovely baby and toddler room to the tweenie rooms. My children look forward to going to nursery and love the outdoor play areas.
“A fantastic place. You initially worry when you first hand your child over to someone else, but we could not be more comfortable than handing our son over to Abbey Wood. He has a fantastic active day every day and loves attending. I could not recommend Abbey Wood or the staff more highly!
Our son has attended for almost 18 months now and he has thrived in the environment created at Abbeywood. We have had consistency with his key workers which is so important for us and him, he really loves going in each day. During these covid times, the communication from management has been exceptional and we have been comforted by the measures that they are taking to ensure the nursery stays covid free. We will be sending our second son here soon and would recommend highly to anyone.
Fantastic nursery, I have been so pleased with the care and support that Abbey Wood Grange has given my daughter over the last year. They have helped her progress her new skills and have always been supportive as she’s learned. Lots of long term staff which is a testament to the great atmosphere that Abbey Wood Grange has. Would and have recommended Abbey Wood Grange to family and friends.
We are very happy with Abbey Wood Grange. All the staff are amazing and communication is brilliant. Our daughter absolutely loves coming to nursery and enjoys a huge variety of activities both inside and outside. The facilities are great and well kept.
Both my son and daughter have attended Abbey Wood Grange from 1 year old and 5 months (now 5 and 4 years old) and have loved attending this great nursery. From seeing them progress through the different stages you can see a great connection between the staff and the children and my children have both been extremely happy here. Thanks to all the management and staff for making this nursery such a wonderful place.
