Located just off the main Godstone Road, with Kenley train station a five minute walk away.

How long have you been running for?

Established in 1990 we provide care for up to 106 children daily aged between 3months – 5years.

Do you have a waiting list ?

Some days are busier than others, please contact us for our current availability.

How will my child settle into the nursery?

Around the week before a start date we offer 2 free of charge settling in sessions. The first is a time to share information and the second allows your child to experience a session at nursery.

What food and drink do you provide?

Depending on the hours your child/children attend they will receive:

Breakfast/Mid Morning snack / cooked lunch / Afternoon snack and Afternoon tea.

Snack contains fresh fruit, vegetables and milk / water.

My Nursery Kitchen who specialise in creating meals for Early Years supply our meals and the cooking process is finished in house.

Are your staff trained in all areas?

75% of our staff team hold a Childcare Qualification.

All staff have an enhanced DBS.

All staff have Safeguarding Training.

All staff are Paediatric First Aid Trained.

How do you recruit your staff , are they DBS checked?

We follow safer recruitment procedures, all potential practitioners have a comprehensive interview with 2 Managers, followed by a work trial . An enhanced DBS and 2 written references are required before starting and all new practitioners have a 6 month’s probation period.

What are the ratios within the nursery?

3 months – 2 years 1 member of staff to 3 children.

2-3 years 1 member of staff to 4 children.

3-4 years 1 member of staff to 8 children.

Do you have a high staff turn over?

We have an established staff team, with half the team having more than 5 years dedicated service to the nursery.

The Management Team have a combined service to the nursery of over 55 years.

What are your working hours?

We are open Monday – Friday 7.30am – 6.00pm

We close Bank holidays and the week between Christmas and New Year.

Nursery Fees are calculated over 51 weeks.

Do you offer a sibling discount?

We offer a 5% sibling discount on the eldest child's fees when not in receipt of any early years funding

Are you OFSTED registered and what is your OFSTED number?

Our OFSTED Registration number is EY330257.

What happens if I am running late?

If you are running late we ask you to let us know as soon as possible.

Late collection is charged at the following rate:

  • 6.00pm -6.15pm - £15.00
  • 6.15pm -6.30pm - £30.00
  • 6.30pm -6.45pm - £45.00
  • 6.45pm – 7.00pm £60.00
How do I find out what has happened during the day?

We pride ourselves on developing strong relationships with all our families, one that allows you to feel sufficiently comfortable to speak with any member of staff and our open door policy means that parents are welcome to ask questions at any time.

At collection you will be given a descriptive handover from the practitioners within your child’s room , including what your child has eaten, how much they have slept and what they have enjoyed throughout the day.

All parents have secure access to Tapestry, a personal online account that we use to update you with your child’s progress, photos and nursery communications.

Parents/carers evenings take place twice a year and provide you with an opportunity to have a one to one appointment with your child’s key worker.

What do you expect of me while my child attends nursery?

To make sure we have all the relevant details about you and your child and that you tell us as soon as there are any changes. To make sure that your child is brought and collected from nursery regularly and on time. To not send your child to nursery when they are ill and inform staff of this as soon as possible. To work together with us as part of a team to ensure the positive development of your child.

How much notice do I have to give when I leave nursery?

We require 4 weeks notice if you wish to terminate your space or reduce your days.

What happened if I need someone else to collect my child?

At Abbey Wood Grange the safety of the children is paramount and we ask that you inform the Office and provide a password if someone else is to collect your child.

Can I access my 15/30 hours of government funded hour entitlement

You can access the 2 year old 15 hours of government funding the term after your childs 2nd birthday.

You can access either your 15 or 30 Government funded hours the term after your child’s third birthday.

The table below will help you to work out when a child’s 9-month birthday falls, and when 9-month-olds and 2-year olds will be able to claim the funding.

Do you offer the government funded hours for 2 year olds?

We offer 2 year funded sessions for those who meet criteria and are in receipt of the funding.

Is there a minimum attendance requirement

Minimum attendance requirement is 2 full days per week or 3 full days if in receipt of the 30 hours Government Funding.

What is required for registration

To register your child and reserve your space we require a completed Registration Form £100 Registration Fee and £200 Holding Deposit. The holding deposit is refundable when your child leaves unless you are in Debit or leave within 6 months of joining.
