Reassurance to Parents and Relatives
At Abbey Wood Grange we employ experienced highly qualified members of staff, many of whom are long serving members who have all been DBS checked and the necessary documentation is on file. All passports and driving licenses are checked and detailed references from previous employers or colleges are obtained.
Enhanced DBS checks on Vince & Sue, the proprietors, were carried out prior to them taking over the nursery and Ofsted carries out the necessary checks regularly.
Our staff attend regular first aid training, safeguarding children courses and refreshers. Therefore they are aware to report anything they feel suspicious of. As well as attending college to obtain the various levels of NVQ in childcare.
We installed CCTV in every room and outside in the garden areas and the perimeter of the nursery for the safety and security of children, staff, and visitors.
Many of our staff have been employed in the nursery over a number of years. And are known to parents of children who used to attend the nursery. Lots of the children who join our nursery hear about us by recommendation from their friends who have attended or currently attend.
All staff photo’s, together with their positions and any extra languages spoken are posted on the notice board in the reception area.
We believe by employing full and part-time personnel good working relationships are developed and exceptional teamwork established. A motivated working team results in happy children.
Our South Croydon Nursery Staff
Our staff have been very carefully selected and are highly trained and qualified in caring for children. In order to maintain this level of quality, childcare standards and performance are continually monitored. All staff have the opportunity to participate in continual professional development and training throughout the year. Regular team meetings and in-house training further promote a feeling of team spirit and encourage staff to feel proud of the important role they play in your child’s development.
Staff forms an excellent team and we pride ourselves on our high standards enthusiasm and many happy children. We promote teamwork, enthusiasm, confidence and a chance to enhance self-development. We are proud to announce that over ninety percent of our staff are qualified (e.g. NNEB, BTEC, NVQ level 2/3 or equivalent). Each of our rooms has at least one qualified nursery practitioner. Almost all of the assistants are working towards a nursery practitioner qualification or have experience of working with children.
All visitors to the nursery are given a friendly welcome by happy, smiling and caring staff. Our visitors often comment on how nice it is to see people who are so happy in their work and who have such caring passionate nature with the children.
Open Doors
We have an excellent management team at Abbey Wood Grange who are happy to answer any questions or queries you may have. Just ask for Cheryl, Georgia or Lisa. Georgia is at Nursery five days a week, Lisa works Monday to Thursday and Cheryl works Monday to Friday. Also, Sue and Vince (proprietors) are often around and available to talk to most of the time.
